Ahli
Arab
Hospital
Education course for emergency doctors - $5,500 Five
years ago, the American Friends donated a $50,000 ambulance, which still
operates perfectly today. The
hospital responds to the crises that relate to the Palestinian-Israeli
conflict, especially in areas of aerial assault, violent flash points and
heavily shelled areas. Through its emergency programs, Ahli provides first-rate
medical treatment to victims of the fighting, most of whom are women and
children. Many lives have been saved! In
2004, a total of 25,283 patients were treated in the general surgical and
medical departments, as well as the urology, orthopedics, gynecology and
pediatric clinics. The hospital also performed 6,019 X-ray examinations and
26,969 lab tests. The
emergency medical program has expanded to meet the needs of the people,
especially in these past years of crisis. To provide more medical care for the
injured, the hospital places great emphasis on improving emergency services to
deal with the different types of wartime casualties. It is critical for
emergency doctors (especially the new staff) to be well-trained, and to have
the latest theoretical and technical skills.
