St. Luke's Hospital

Nablus, West Bank

New Looking Compression Plate Orthopedic Surgical System - $11,159

Nablus is one of the oldest cities in Palestine , located halfway between Jerusalem and Nazareth . The old hospital was demolished in 1994, and a new 60-bed facility was erected along with an adjacent clinic. The hospital treats 20,000 patients a year and performs 2,500 operations. The hospital treats all who seek health care, regardless of their ability to pay. St. Luke's works to enhance the welfare of the Palestinian community and actively encourages the poor to come and be treated.

St. Luke's is a full-service medical facility, offering surgery, pediatrics, gynecology and intensive care. A few years ago, the American Friends helped fund an emergency room. Modern X-ray and radiology equipment support good aftercare services, plus eye care and laboratory. For many years, the hospital has run community outreach programs to improve the health of everyone in Nablus .

The new Looking Compression Plate Orthopedic System will provide more stability to fractures with fewer complications. It reduces the risk of infection, prevents further bone loss after surgery and meets international standards. It will be in service for many years.
